Where can I find local weather forecasts?
There are a few ways for you to view your local weather forecasts.
DISH Instant Weather
If you have a receiver with Interactive TV, you can instantly view your local weather or the weather in any major city you choose. Simply tune to dish home Interactive TV on channel 100 and select your city to view your local weather.
Local News
If you subscribe to Local Channels, you can view your local news reports daily which normally includes local weather forecasts.
The Weather Channel
If you do not have Interactive TV or subscribe to a Local Network package, The Weather Channel provides DISH Network customers with a national look at our nation’s weather. At this time only regional weather information is available and is scheduled by The Weather Channel. Regional specific feeds are currently unavailable.
Can I substitute one channel for another in my basic package?
Unfortunately, we do not allow channel substitutions. We strive to make satellite programming as affordable as possible and our packages have been set up in balance with cost effectiveness and consumer demand. One way to help keep our customer’s programming costs low is to provide stations in packages, rather than a la carte.
Can I purchase DISH Network Pay-Per-View movies and events if I do not have a phone line connected to my receiver?
DISH Network provides several options for customers who do not have access to a phone jack.
1) Telephone Automated System (1-877-DISH-PPV or 1-877-347-4778)
2) Customer Service at 1-888-284-7116
How can I control the Pay-Per-View programming that my family has access to?
There are a couple of ways to ensure that only authorized viewers can see Pay-Per-View content. First, you can activate the Adult Guard feature on your receiver through the Locks menu. This feature hides the adult pay-per-view channels from your on-screen guide.
Second, you can activate the Pay-Per-View locks on your receiver. This will require a password from anyone in your household wishing to order a Pay-Per-View program. Follow these easy instructions:
- Go to the Locks menu,
- Select “PPV Locks”,
- Enter a four-digit passcode,
- Then, go back into the Locks menu and select “Activate Locks”
What are Movies On Demand?
Movies On Demand are movies you can view at your convenience. Select a movie from the Featured Movies or Now Showing listings, follow the easy ordering instructions and you can begin viewing the movie immediately. If you need to stop the movie for any reason, select the Resume button to continue viewing, or the Start Over button to return to the beginning of the movie.
What is Video On Demand?
Video On Demand will supercharge your DVR, giving you the power to enjoy movies and other programs whenever you want. This new feature will also change the way you interact with your DVR.
I just had DISH Network installed and I am unable to rent anything from my Movies On Demand menu screens. Why not?
It will take a minimum of 24 hours for DISH On Demand to appear on screen. To get the most up-to-date movies, be sure to turn off your receiver when it is not in use.
